Today, we have for you the first official single off of rapper Big Sean’s upcoming major-label debut album, Finally Famous. Sean recruited Chris Brown to come along this time around, and the result is a collaboration that sounds made for the radio, while still appealing to his core fans. “My Last” is a feel-good track all the way around, and does not fail to disappoint. Sean revealed to Billboard earlier this week that his album is set and ready to be released in March, so we’ll see what happens! Enjoy.

Today’s track of the day is a unique hybrid of rap and rock, and we mean that in the best way possible. Travis Barker’s oft-delayed solo album is finally seeing the light of day in a month or two, and today brought around the release of the first official single off of the album. Featuring an all-star lineup of Lil Wayne, Game, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Ross, “Can The Drummer Get Some?” is a blaring, anthemic track filled with spectacular verses by all, as one might expect. Be looking for this one to be hitting radios everywhere sometime next month, even though this will have fully dissipated through the mass consciousness of the internet approximately 0.263984 seconds after this posting. Not a bad way to start off a weekend, right? Thought so. Enjoy!

Today’s track of the day is a somewhat old (but timeless nonetheless) remix of one of Santigold’s hit songs, “You’ll Find A Way”. In this dance remix, Kid CuDi tacks on an additional guest verse that gives the song an added level of intensity and depth. Further adding to the track’s intrigue is the fact that CuDi’s verse was recorded far before his explosion into the mainstream consciousness, making this song a veritable time capsule into the primordial beginnings of the career of the man commonly known as Scott Mescudi. Santigold herself isn’t too shabby either - her urgent, racing vocals perfectly complement the dark and frenetic beat. This, combined with CuDi’s guest spot, creates a recipe for success. Enjoy!

Today’s track of the day comes to you from the French electronica trio Telepopmusik. “Last Train To Wherever” features ethereal vocals overlaid onto a haunting sonic backdrop. With bubbling synths and intriguing auditory nuances throughout, this is one of those tracks that is heard once and put on repeat for the rest of the day (I should know; it happened to me this past weekend). The group is rumored to be releasing a new album sometime this year, but until then, this offering from their album Angel Milk (which came out all the way back in 2005) will have to do. Enjoy!

In light of the recent New Year’s festivities, I felt compelled to post one of my favorite tracks that I’ve been listening to lately. This is one of that songs that has a sort of “feel” to it…in this case, it feels like winter…if that makes any sort of sense at all. Anyways, I highly recommend you give this song (titled “City Lights”) a listen. I can almost guarantee that for better or for worse, this song is poised to become the next “Airplanes” pop / hip-hop crossover hit; I’m pretty sure just one listen will convince you of that. Not to mention, Nikki & Rich bring Fabolous onboard for a scene-stealing guest verse that is truly inspirational. Not a bad way to start off this year, in my opinion. Enjoy!

Today’s track of the day comes to you from Keri Hilson’s recently-released “No Boys Allowed” album. Possibly the best track on the album, “Buyou” features New York native J. Cole spitting perhaps one of the greatest feature verses of his career. As an ode to people everywhere who can carry their own weight financially, the track will appeal to a wide audience - perhaps even an international one, as many speculate that this will be the next radio single off Miss Keri’s album. Enjoy!

This track just hit the internet just a couple of days ago, and we can already tell it’s going to be a hit. Willow Smith has enlisted British rapper Tinie Tempah for the official remix to her huge single “Whip My Hair”, and the result is brilliant. Tempah’s verses go perfectly with the updated beat (which now has a sound more reminiscent of a European nightclub than a Southern hip-hop release), and Willow herself delivers as always. Look for this one to be hitting radios soon - with MTV itself anointing Tempah as one of the “Biggest Acts to Watch in 2011”, it’s very possible we’ll be seeing him on more than a few awards stages this year. Enjoy!

Today’s track of the day comes to you from rapper Charles Hamilton’s critically-acclaimed mixtape “Atlantis And A…”, which was released in early July last year. This song, “Speak No Louder”, is an uplifting, rock-infused song which samples rock group Idlewild’s “No Emotion”. This track is also notable for other reasons - according to Charles, ”…this song was supposed to be on the Iron Man soundtrack while I was on Interscope, but copyright issues between Sega and Marvel prevented that from happening…”. Interesting, indeed. Enjoy this song of the day, everyone! It’s a great one.

Hello all! For today’s weekend offering of music, we’ve got a new song off of rock band R.E.M.’s upcoming album Collapse Into Now, which is currently slated for an early 2011 release date. “Discoverer” features the signature R.E.M. sound, as well as great vocals and a nice guitar solo. This track is the first original piece of material we’ve heard from the group since their critically-acclaimed 2008 release, Living Well Is The Best Revenge. A couple more tracks from the LP have been unveiled - including a collaboration with Eddie Vedder - but this is by far the best one yet. We may be playing more songs like this on our show in the coming weeks, so we’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this song. Enjoy!
