"6'7' (ft. Cory Gunz)" by Lil Wayne.

Well, well, well…look who’s back with a new single! After busting out of Riker’s Island and completely destroying Birdman’s remix of “Fire Flame”, Lil Wayne is back with his first official single since being incarcerated back in March. This latest song, entitled “6’7’ (Six Foot Seven Foot)”, features new Young Money signee Cory Gunz and some very A Milli-esque production, courtesy of frequent collaborator Bangladesh. Wayne drops ridiculous metaphors left and right, including the unforgettable line, “I just got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate”. Looks like Wayne’s back for real this time. If this is any indication of what’s being cooked up out in Miami for Tha Carter IV, it looks like Mr. Carter very well may be showing up on more than a few awards shows in the coming year. But now that the track is out…what are your thoughts? Is this a worthy precursor to the upcoming album?

"Fire Flame (ft. Lil Wayne)" by Birdman.

It looks like 8 months in a federal prison hasn’t changed Lil Wayne much. Eleven days after being released from Riker’s Island Correctional Facility, Dwayne Carter (formerly know as Inmate #02616544L) has laid down and recorded his first post-prison verses in the form of a remix to Birdman’s latest single, “Fire Flame”. Wayne sounds more focused and lucid than ever, dropping those signature metaphors and unforgettable lines all over this track. Factor in a thinly-veiled reference to the upcoming Tha Carter IV, and we’ve got a potential hit on our hands that not only heralds Wayne’s re-entrance into the music industry, but also heightens anticipation for the already long-awaited album. Happy Wednesday everyone, and enjoy!

"Break Ya Back" by Jay Sean.

Jay Sean fans can enjoy now the full and untagged version of “Break Ya Back”, the official second single from the British singer’s upcoming album “Freeze Time”. The uptempo cut was produced by Timbaland, so you already know the beats are fire. I like this tune! I was kinda on the fence tho with “Break Ya Back” because I wasn’t feeling it from Jay’s performance at the MOBO Awards this year but having heard now the full studio version, I’ve have re-considered my judgement to…dancefloor smash! By the way, big bummer for Jay fans…he recently announced that “Freeze Time” had been pushed back to February 2011! Me don’t get it. “2012 (It Ain’t the End)” had peaked thus far at #31 on the Hot 100, taking into account Jay had given the single almost ZERO promotion in the states, so for what he had done it was more than a respectable position. Maybe his label feared that with all the upcoming major releases Jay’s new CD would be quickly overshadowed, but still…playing with fans’ illusion is not cool! The set was supposed to come out in 2010.
